Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about wedding photography and videography? Here are some answers!

Question: Is 6 hours enough for wedding day coverage?

Answer: Generally, yes. Six hours tends to be the sweet spot, covering from wrapping up getting ready to just as the dance floor opens up for general dancing. Out of the almost 100 weddings I've done, at least 80% of them were booked at 6 hours.

I would recommend more hours if you want more coverage during the getting ready portion of the day, or if there's a bit of a drive between the ceremony and reception.

Question: Do I need a second photographer?

Answer: This really depends on how big your wedding is. When a wedding has over 150 guests, I'm inclined to recommend having a second photographer because  second photographer ensures more coverage, additional angles, and fuller storytelling throughout your day.

Question: How many edited photos do I get back?

Answer: The wedding industry standard is 50-100 photos per hour of coverage. So, if I'm hired for 6 hours, you could expect between 300-600 photos returned to you.

Some weddings have more structured activities going on, like a first look, multiple special dances, toasts; these all add to the amount of photos you'll receive.

Question: How do I know if a wedding photographer is right for me?

Answer: This is a great question, because this is really what will help you to book someone. When you're shopping around for a photographer, definitely make sure that their style aligns with what you're looking for. Ask for full wedding albums of their work so you can see a full wedding day or two. Jump on a phone call and see if it's a good fit.

Question: What is your style of photography?

Answer: I like to think of myself as a fly on the wall during a wedding day. I'm there to document the happiest day of your life, and not be intrusive. There will be some posing that I will do during portraits, but I'd much rather capture the day as it happens getting candid photos versus a big photoshoot.

Question: How long does it take to get photos and videos back?

Answer: The wedding industry standard is up to 12 weeks for photos and videos.

I think that's a little long to be waiting for photos and videos from your wedding day. I send sneak peeks within 24 hours for photos, and 48 hours for video. I try to get everything done within a months' time, if not sooner.

Question: Have you been to my venue?

Answer: Depends! I have had the opportunity to return to a few different venues, but I always love going some place new!

A few of the venues I've been to multiple times:

  • Lake View Inn in Wolfeboro, NH

  • Atkinson Resort and Country Club in Atkinson, NH

  • Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown, NH

  • Grill 28 in Portsmouth, NH
